Customer story

What was the problem you were experiencing before purchasing a subscription to Pasture.io?

Before using Pasture.io, regular pasture walks were taking a lot of time, and even when we were measuring every 10 days, we were still underestimating spring growth.

That led to losing control of residuals and more pasture wastage than we would have liked, pasture that could have been harvested instead.

What was your main concern about subscribing to Pasture.io?

Our biggest hesitation was whether Pasture.io would actually do what we hoped it would.

We had some previous experience with satellite pasture measurements through other tools, so we understood the concept, but we wanted something that genuinely helped with day-to-day grazing decisions.

What have you found as a result from subscribing to Pasture.io?

Since subscribing to Pasture.io, we feel much more confident in the decisions we're making.

Our DairyBase analysis will give us the proof over time, but already we believe we've maintained better pasture quality through spring and have more confidence when allocating area for harvesting.

What is the best thing about Pasture.io?

The best thing about Pasture.io is having more relevant, accurate information in one place.

We probably still overthink things at times, but we're making better decisions because we can see covers, growth rates, days since grazed, harvested, fertilised or sprayed, all together.

What do you think about support and product development?

It is absolutely worth it. Having more accurate and relevant information means better decision-making.

The support team is very responsive, the chatbot is the best we've experienced, and the ongoing development gives us confidence that the platform keeps improving. I'm particularly looking forward to more on the feed inventory side.

Is there anything more you would like to add?

I won't sugar-coat that there is some work involved in keeping records up to date, especially with multiple mobs.

We run young stock for their full lives and have bulls, so our minimum number of herds is six. It's a lot to manage, but Pio handles all of them and their different requirements.
