Access to personal information stored on Pasture.io servers is restricted to those employees or contractors who require such access to perform a legitimate business purpose relating to the Services, maintenance, internal security or other related issues. All Pasture.io employees and contractors, as a prerequisite for employment, are required to sign a strict and detailed confidentiality agreement in relation to the personal information that they will have access to.
Data Breach Procedures
In the event of an eligible data breach, Pasture.io will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme or other applicable law.

Section 15 - Third-Party Integrations and Data Usage
Third-Party Partnerships and Your Data
We collaborate with trusted third-party vendors and integrate various technologies to operate and enhance the services we offer. These collaborations may involve sharing limited personal information, farm-specific data, or non-personal data to deliver features such as Pio, weather, satellite imagery, spatial datasets, payment processing, customer support, and business communications. The data we share can include, where relevant, your name, account contact details, farm asset locations, paddock boundaries, and information about herd and other farm activities.
Due Diligence and Data Protection
We rigorously vet all third-party vendors to ensure they uphold privacy and data protection standards that align with our own. However, it's important to note that we cannot fully control how these third parties handle your information once it has been shared.
Your Acknowledgment and Discretion
By utilising our services, you acknowledge that Pasture.io is not responsible for the actions of these third-party vendors. While we aim to enhance your experience through these collaborations, you should exercise your own discretion when interacting with these features. Your use of our services indicates that you understand the shared information aims to improve the quality and scope of services provided to you.
Machine Learning and Data Security
Pasture.io builds and improves proprietary pasture, remote-sensing, forecasting, and farm models. These models may use farm operational records, satellite-derived measurements, weather data, spatial data, pasture measurements, grazing and planting records, fertiliser and spraying applications, and related non-personal, de-identified, or aggregated data. Personal contact details such as names, email addresses, and phone numbers are not the target of proprietary pasture model training.
Pio Language-Model Features
Pio language-model features use large language model providers, including OpenAI, to generate responses. When you use Pio chat or related language-model features, we may send your prompt, recent chat history, user name, and relevant farm context to the language-model provider so the feature can answer in context. Relevant farm context may include farm identity, country, settings, filtered paddock or feed-wedge summaries, livestock summaries, irrigation summaries, usage summaries, monthly targets, and other context available to the feature.
Pio responses are generated to assist with farm decision support and should be checked by the user before being relied on for operational, financial, animal health, agronomic, legal, or compliance decisions.
Section 16 - Ownership and Retention of Non-Personal Data
Continued Use of Non-Personal Data Upon Service Termination
Should you choose to discontinue using our services, Pasture.io may continue using non-personal, de-identified, aggregated, or farm operational data for the purpose of improving our services, proprietary models, forecasts, analytics, and farm decision-support tools. This may include pasture measurements, paddock boundaries, grazing and planting records, fertiliser and spraying applications, and similar farm activity records. Personal contact details that identify you as an individual will not be used as the target of this model-improvement activity.
Section 17 - Review of Compliance and Your Acceptance

Pasture.io will review this Privacy Policy at least annually and when our data practices materially change. We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, technology, laws, or business operations.
